Happy Heseveld

Tips & Trucs for the new mayor of Utrecht

Newspaper with collected stories from the

wanderers in Utrecht Leidsche Rijn.

we are here! founded by NSGK, the Dutch foundation for disabled children.

An innovative movement  with marginalised people and their alleys to find ways of belonging and contributing  to their own community. So less fixers & professionals and more FUN people!

Based on the principles and practices of the Asset-Based Community Development Institute (ABCD) that brings neighbours and institutions together to discover the power of being a good neighbour in creative ways.

We work on 4 practices in the Netherlands:

1. Nijmegen, keyring

Here we initiated a keyring, you can find our stories at: www.wijkringen.nl

Together with the members of the keyring we've been mapping assets of Heseveld, a neighbourhood in Nijmegen. We made the film: Happy Heseveld

2. Utrecht, lanterfanten in leidsche rijn

We have been wondering & wandering, a beautiful dutch word: lanterfanten! We have been harvesting stories (de lanterfantcourant) and made a short film with tips & trucs for the new mayor of Utrecht.

We were part of the Crossing (De Oversteek)

Neighbourhood revolutionary Adelheid Roosen led us and a hundred local people from the outskirts of Utrecht  into their theatre, every day that the play Dante’s Death (Dantons Dood) was performed there. We've made the crossing from the neighborhood to the theater. We didn't play a role and remained who we are: ourselves. We populated the stage as if we were at home and honoured the theater as if it was a community center.

3. Hello East (Amsterdam Oost)

4. Navarea ( IJburg)

Together with smoothiegirls Judith & Sara we've organised a Tot smoothie event  for & with the neighbourhood of IJburg.
